The Miles Labor Government will build a brand-new ambulance station for the Upper Ross community, if elected in October.
An initial investment of $10 million would see the new start-of-the-art facility deliver 24/7 operational ambulance services to the rapidly growing Upper Ross community, significantly boosting healthcare in the region.
Unlike the LNP who cut 398 health workers from Townsville, Labor will always invest in more ambos and more stations
Premier Steven Miles and Member for Thuringowa Aaron Harper have announced a new ambulance station will be built in Townsville for the Upper Ross community, if elected in October.
The new state-of-the-art ambulance station would be delivered with an initial $10 million investment from the Miles Labor Government.
This will enhance the delivery of urgent healthcare in the region, ensuring the Upper Ross community has more access to emergency services, closer to home.
The announcement follows the recent opening of the Burdell Ambulance Station as part of the Miles Government’s record $28.9 billion investment in health.
If elected in October, the Miles Government has committed to hiring 2,000 more ambulance officers over the next four years to continue strengthening Queensland’s health workforce.
The LNP cannot be trusted with Queenslander’s health. The LNP cut doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals from Queensland hospitals, and are planning on cutting 12,000 if they get in October.
When last in office they cut 398 health workers from the Townsville region alone. The Member for Burnett, Stephen Bennett also said they want to “break the back of health workers entitlements”.
Queenslanders, especially in regional areas, need frontline healthcare now more than ever, and cuts to the health workforce will see services like our ambulance stations grind to a halt.
